How can we improve our V5 options?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Insert/Edit Image "OK" Button not working.

    Insert/Edit Image "OK" Button not working to add pictures from Gallery, photobucket, imgur. The button is there but clicking it does nothing

  2. Disable Widget columns in forums

    We like to have wide forums .. even if you disable sidebar widgets in the Admin section, all that does is remove the content in those columns .. the actual area where that content was is not released to increase the width of the forums. This applies to all three current template choices.

    Below each user to the right of their avatar is a line that says:

    Last Seen: 5 days ago

    This will show Today, Yesterday, X Days Ago up to about 200, then it shows “Long Ago”

    Do you all see that?

  4. Create a hover tooltip for forums for status icons

    There is a little icon on posts indicating their status (announcement, hot topic, etc) .. which is cool, but it would be nice if there was a hover tooltip appear when you hovered over the icon, telling you what it meant. Preferably with a delay in place so that the tooltip only appeared when the user deliberately paused over the icon - not when they were simply moving the cursor past that location.

    There is now a browser standard tooltip on each icon. The icons have also been moved to the beginning of the title so that they are easier to scan and see announcements vs stickies vs moved, etc.

  5. Can't find a way to manually update the Roster

    The admin page for the roster points to the actual website roster page, stating there is a side-link to manually update .. but I can't find it.

    The wording and link has been changed to reflect V5 changes (if the site is V5)

  6. Pictures in WYSIWYG Editor, when scaled down automaticly (after posting) to fit forum width, doesn't keep the constant proportions.

    this should be fixed now, the change was to reserve adding size information to the image until the user manually chooses to size it by dragging the corners in the wysiwyg, this will decrease the likelihood of the image looking weird, while still providing a way for people to do their own sizing for with images if they want

  7. The Calendar doesn't do the words hyphenation properly (example: "RP EVENT: First Step int--o a Larger W--orld")

    We are done with Turkey and starting to roll out V5 updates. This is now fixed! Enjoy!

  9. Include a "go to latest post" option in the forums

    In V4 there is a little icon next to a posters name, on the forums, that you can click on to go to the latest post. I don't see this in V5. Meaning that, for a long thread, you have to go into the thread and then click on the page number to get to the end.

    The ‘by’ line for the Latest Post now reads:
    ‘Latest by User’ – Latest links to the most recent post directly. We considered using an icon, but this implementation seemed both clearer and more mobile friendly.

  10. The colour schemes fall off the page ...

    Under Colour Theme > Colour Schemes there are lots of "wheels" of colours to pick from .. but they continue on off the bottom of the screen (the very last one that I can see .. which is only the very top of the "wheel", is called theme-color-accentyellow.

    This bug is fixed. The color wheels are now all happy to present themselves for clicking.

  11. Every "Preview" in WYSIWYG a paragraph is added at the bottom to the post ("<p>&nbsp;</p>").

    This has been fixed. The extra spacing will only be added in the case of quotes (to provide space to type below the quote)

    Favorite Icons can now be added on a new page in the Admin area under the Site Settings heading.

  14. Version 5 Feedback

    1. I can't figure out how to add a Favicon for the site
    2. I can no longer see when the last time peeps logged into the site under the Roster area.
    3. I can't change the Font size of posts via the WYSIWYG tool for forums
    4. I can't figure out how to change color pallets to be custom
    5. I can't figure out how to adjust column transparency.

    This has been fixed. We are now removing some special characters just for customization uploads to simplify passing them around in JavaScript and JSON and the like.
