How can we improve our V5 options?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  2. 'WoW News' widgets links are off

    I have the 'WoW News' widget on my sites sidebar. It shows the article titles correctly, but the links are off. All of the links point to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml and not to that specific article. And even that url is "off"; there should be an option in the widget to choose between polling eu.battle.net and us.battle.net & it would indeed be nice if the links opened the correct article automatically...

  3. Chat widget not showing or working properly, neither in V5 nor in V4

    When Chat widget is placed on the side column it is not displayed properly on all pages. In these pages the WYSIWYG styling text tools appear and when typing to chat box and press enter nothing happens, chat is not working. You have to use the chat widget from a page that the WYSIWYG styling text tools are not shown. This happens for example when you are in the PM page or when reading a post.     Moreover, the online users are not shown in chat widget on the side column unless you open the full page chat.…

    I believe we have tracked down every instance where the WYSIWYG would overtake the chat text entry box. If you see it happen again then a full page screenshot where we can see what page/functionality you are interacting with would help us find it.

  4. Server Status

    The new layouts look great.
    I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong in the Server Status widget. Since I updated to V5, it doesn't show the status of the server.

    I attached a screenshot of it.

    I would also suggest changing the appearance of it if possible. Unless there's something I'm missing, I can't seem to change it.

    The server status should be working/display much better for you now. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for bringing this to our attention so we could fix it.

  5. Admin Staff Roster

    Can you add a a staff roaster in which it lists of the admins and can you add the function so that the admins can customize it? I have provided a screenshot here. Thank you.

    This is already available as the ‘Roles’ tab of the site roster – it will show the permission groups like you’re describing.

  6. Avatars on forums pointing to unknown profiles

    In the main forum view everything seems normal, but when you navigate into a forum section the avatars next to "Latest post" are wrong and actually belong, and point to, totally unknown profiles. To profiles that aren't part of our guild!

    This is a major bug and to get rid of it I had to hide all the avatars on forums with css customization while this is being fixed. Please look into it asap!

  7. Insert/Edit Image "OK" Button not working.

    Insert/Edit Image "OK" Button not working to add pictures from Gallery, photobucket, imgur. The button is there but clicking it does nothing

  8. Add moderate forum option to drop down menu.

    When you're in a forum and click to expand the drop down menu there is no moderate forum option even if you're flagged as a moderator or administrator. You have to go into a post in that forum and click it from there. Screenshot attached.

  9. Allow editing forum signatures

    My forum signature is stuck in the Pandaria days. Can't we at least have a text box to edit it, even if a fancy HTML editor isn't ready yet?

    You can edit your signature on your User Profile. Click the person icon at the top of the site, then click your username in that dropdown. Click ‘Edit Profile’ on your User Profile and you can change your signature! :)

  10. Forum Latest post avatar

    I'd like to see the avatar of the latest poster instead of creator of the thread on forums,it gets confusing who posted what sometimes. Atm it shows the Creator's avatar but the name of latest poster..

  11. Pictures in WYSIWYG Editor, when scaled down automaticly (after posting) to fit forum width, doesn't keep the constant proportions.

    this should be fixed now, the change was to reserve adding size information to the image until the user manually chooses to size it by dragging the corners in the wysiwyg, this will decrease the likelihood of the image looking weird, while still providing a way for people to do their own sizing for with images if they want

  12. Mobile App

    It's very frustrating that the ad for your new Banter app pops up every time one of my members wishes to look at your mobile site. I love the changes. It works well with V5, but I hear frequent complaints about this. Maybe we can see it once? Then ignore it if we don't want to download it.

    PS. That app would be used more if it had a chat room feature (like GroupMe). Then I would LOVE it.

    We have looked at this and it seems that so long as cookies are enabled the user should not get this message repeatedly. If they have cookies enabled then we need more info such as device/OS/Browser to try to track down a specific issue.

    As the system is setup they should get a reminder once every seven days or so so long as their mobile device is accepting cookies.

  13. Upload in File Library not working in Google Chrome

    Redid my guild a bit, and I went to update the tabard.png file in my File Library, and using Chrome when I clicked "Upload" nothing would happen. Even temporarily switching my site back to version 4 did not fix the problem. Looking at the differences though between how it is displayed in both browsers, the "upload" button is crowded your file selection tool, and might be rendered useless because of that, whereas on Firefox there is a definite space between the two.
    I was able to switch to Firefox and upload with no problem.

  14. Not sure if this is a bug, but custom pages can't be edited with WYSIWYG

    http://www.wowkaos.com/custom.php?page_id=100041&gid=276219 when I use the WYSIWYG editor it, it wants to edit the page in HTML? This page was made with V4 a long time ago so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it?

    This is now fixed and using the most recent editor version in V5. Thanks for the report!

  15. Change raiding team sizes?

    Since WoD is now 10-30 (flex) raid teams, and 20 man Mythic. The site needs to start adapting to that design.

    For example; Recruiting Advertisement - Still lists 10 man teams & 25man teams... Same for many of the widgets and such.

    The raid sizes have been replaced with Mythic, Heroic and Normal to reflect current state of raiding.

  16. Include a "go to latest post" option in the forums

    In V4 there is a little icon next to a posters name, on the forums, that you can click on to go to the latest post. I don't see this in V5. Meaning that, for a long thread, you have to go into the thread and then click on the page number to get to the end.

    The ‘by’ line for the Latest Post now reads:
    ‘Latest by User’ – Latest links to the most recent post directly. We considered using an icon, but this implementation seemed both clearer and more mobile friendly.

  17. The colour schemes fall off the page ...

    Under Colour Theme > Colour Schemes there are lots of "wheels" of colours to pick from .. but they continue on off the bottom of the screen (the very last one that I can see .. which is only the very top of the "wheel", is called theme-color-accentyellow.

    This bug is fixed. The color wheels are now all happy to present themselves for clicking.

  18. The Calendar doesn't do the words hyphenation properly (example: "RP EVENT: First Step int--o a Larger W--orld")

    This has been fixed. The extra spacing will only be added in the case of quotes (to provide space to type below the quote)
