Use Forum post Up Vote counter to generate member Recognition Award
Our Guild has enabled the Up Vote button for Forum posts. At present the Up Vote count only shows on the individual post. We would like to use the Up Vote counter totals to generate member Recognition Awards by setting count criteria.
For example, if a post gets 5 Up Votes, the poster would receive a Worthy Post Award. We could create a graphic in our Standard Graphics settings or GL could create a Worthy Post graphic that could be enabled in Site settings.
Other benchmarks could be set for subsequent Up Vote awards with an upper limit. 10 Up Votes would generate a Meritorious Post Award, 25 Up Votes would get an Outstanding Post Award. 25 Up Votes could be set as the upper limit.
These post Up vote Recognition Awards could increase member participation, encourage interaction on posts, and provide peer acknowledgement for members who actively post in our Forums. It could also generate more site visits by Guild members.
When the Recognition Award level is reached, the Recognition Award granted would appear beneath the member's Avatar in Forum posts and in their Profile, perhaps in Badges or Awards. The member would receive an automatic "Congratulations" message notifying them of the Award received.
FYI, another Forum I visit which uses the Vanilla Forums product, has an option for a variety of member Recognition Awards.
This feature could be useful to a wide number of GL Guild Sites. The availability of Recognition Awards could be featured in Guild Launch marketing.

Thanks for your message on my suggestion for "report post" and "like post" buttons. If you believe they could be tied in with your suggestion, feel free to add your own vote ;-)
As far as the recognition rewards go, I'm not against the idea .. especially if it is an automated system .. and as mentioned in my suggestion it would be nice to have a list of those people underneath a forum post who have "liked" it. However, if people felt they wanted rewards for being up-voted on posts, it would be fairly easy to get them, by exchanging votes with other forum users, meaning it could then not necessarily be a true reflection of the usefulness of posts.
If you simply want Recognition Awards, you can already do that manually on your Guildlaunch site.
